जीव और ब्रह्म का एकत्व

'' ब्रह्म सत्यं जगन्मिथ्या जीवो ब्रह्मैवनापर: '' Brahman(ब्रह्म) is the only reality; the world(जगत) is ultimately false; and the individual soul(जीव) is non-different from Brahman(ब्रह्म). Brahman and Atman or the supreme self are synonymous terms. The world is creation of Maya. The individual selves on account of their inherent Avidya imagine themselves as different from Brahman and mistake Brahman as this world of plurality, even as we mistake a rope as a snake. Avidya vanishes at the dawn of knowledge--the supra-relational direct and intuitive knowledge of the non-dual self which means liberation.
